Why is my nonprofit no longer receiving donation email notifications?

561 views March 14, 2017 March 3, 2020 matt 5

There are two possible solutions for this issue:

Emails Sent to Spam/Junk

Some email providers (Gmail, Yahoo, etc.) are inconsistent with how they flag email. Givelify’s email notifications come from “noreply@givelify.com,” which can sometimes cause them to be sent to your spam or junk folder.

How to Resolve the Issue

Add “noreply@givelify.com” to your email contacts. This will ensure your notifications are delivered correctly to your inbox.

Givelify Account Inactivity

If a nonprofit official on your Givelify account used to receive email notifications, you may have noticed that in some cases, these stopped after March 1, 2017.

If an official suddenly stopped receiving notifications, it is because even though an account was created for them they never activated it by logging into the Givelify dashboard.

On March 1, 2017, Givelify made a change for the safety and security of our member organizations. Email notifications will now only be sent to officers who have activated their accounts.

How to Resolve the Issue

If you are an official affected by this change:

You can request a new account activation link by following these steps:

  • In a web browser, go to givelify.com and click Log In
  • Click Forgot your password?
  • Enter the email address used for your Givelify account
  • Click Send Email

You will receive an email that includes a link to activate your account with a new password.

You must click the link within 24 hours, otherwise you will have to start the process over.

Once your account is active, you will receive donation email notifications.

If you are an administrator for your Givelify account:

You can update the affected officers’ accounts by following these steps:

  • In a web browser, go to givelify.com and click Log In
  • Click on Settings
  • Click on Officers to display all officer accounts
  • Inactive officers will have a Resend Invitation button
  • Click Resend Invitation
  • You will see a message at the top of the screen that reads “Email invitation sent successfully.”

Each individual will receive an email that includes a link to activate their accounts.

They must click the link within 24 hours, otherwise you will have to start the process over by sending a new link.

Once the accounts are active, these officers will receive donation email notifications.
