How do I complete my church account setup?

100 views 3

After you have signed up your church as a Givelify account owner, you need to add your Tax ID/EIN (which ensures protection against fraud), checking account (to enable next-day automatic deposits), and legal representative information.

Federal compliance regulations require all organizations that submit a bank account for next day deposit processing also the following information:

  • the year your organization was established, and
  • the name, address, phone number, date of birth, and social security number for one (1) individual with responsibility for managing the organization.

You can learn more in the article, “Why does it take up to five business days to verify my place of worship’s account?

Adding Your Tax ID

Once you’ve signed up, the first time you log in you will see the home dashboard with the three steps required to successfully start receiving deposits. Click “Begin Step 1” to add your federal Tax ID.

After adding your Tax ID, you will see a message confirming that your information is being verified. This verification usually takes one to two business days. You will receive an email notifying you when your information is verified and you can continue to step two, connecting your bank account.

Connecting Your Bank Account

After we verify your organization with the IRS, you will receive an email notification. When you log into your Givelify dashboard, you will see a success message under Fraud Protection. Click on “Begin Step 2” to enter your bank account information.

You must provide a routing and account number for your checking account, as well as a photo or scan of a voided check, recent bank statement, or bank verification letter to ensure that donations are deposited into the correct account.

Note: We are unable to accept savings accounts, personal accounts, or starter checks.

Type your routing number and account number into the spaces provided. Then click the Choose File button to upload your voided check, bank statement, or bank verification letter.

Adding Your Legal Representative Information

After entering your banking information, you can either enter your legal representation information or come back and enter it at another time. Click “Begin Step 3” to start.

Federal compliance regulations require all organizations that submit a bank account for next day deposit processing also the following information:

  • the year your organization was established, and
  • the name, address, phone number, date of birth, and social security number for one (1) individual with responsibility for managing the organization.

This person could be your Senior Pastor, CFO, Treasurer, or anyone else who helps oversee your organization.

These regulations fall under the Patriot Act and are intended to prevent fraud, money laundering, and support for terrorist activity. You can learn more about the federal regulatory changes from the U.S. Department of the Treasury.

Once Givelify ensures that this information is correct, your account will be processed for next day deposits. The entire bank verification process can take up to five (5) business days.

While your bank account is being processed, we are working with our bank partners to set your account up for automatic next day deposits. Donations received during the set up period will be manually disbursed into the account you provided within 3-5 business days. Donations received after your account is set up will be automatically disbursed next business day.
